A New Engagement! :)

Today is a special day for me, because it was on this day last year that I met Loretta. My life has totally transformed since then.

For months now, many people have been asking us — on an almost daily basis — when we were getting married. And while I still don’t have an answer, I can at least say that it will happen.

Being the perfectionist that I am, I wanted to make my proposal as perfect as possible. And then, while I wrote out some words on a card to her this morning, I had the sudden urge to just do it. On a daily basis, my drive for perfection hurts me, because it always seems to take longer than it should. It dawned on me today that there will only be one perfect moment — the moment that I ask.

And so, under a lonely tree at The Contemporary Museum, I popped the question (after she read the card, and just 2 hours after the idea popped into my head). I don’t even have a ring yet, but it just felt like the right time, and I wasn’t going to wait any longer.

I love this woman.
